Grief Composting at The Glade (before the XR Actions)
Date & Time
Wed 11th Sep 2019
6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
CEREMONY SPACE TO SUPPORT and NOURISH our Totnes REGENERATIVE and RESTORATIVE CULTURE
Many people have been awakening to the truth of what is happening to our Earth’s sentient beings including our own species.
For a culture that has abandoned its relationship with Grief and Death it can be a very brutal awakening.
Grief being the twin of Love ~ Death being the twin of ReBirth there is an invitation here to being fully alive and in service to Life.
There is a possibility for our strong experiences of sorrow, fear, anxiety, anger, paralysis and on and on…to become a skill and an apprenticeship to Grief therefore to Love.
We can lean into Grief Tending & Composting as a soulful and rigorous practice for a homecoming to self and to our living world.
We can also apprentice to Grief to support other Rebels ~ before, during and after actions ~ with Grief and Homecoming events in XR communities.
People who have experienced Grief Composting and tending say that they have felt a Homecoming to the Heart and Soul of their own being.
“Though now addicted to security, comfort and managing uncertainty, our culture could learn to honour, teach and live grief as a skill, as vital to our personal, community and spiritual life as the skill of loving.” Stephen Jenkinson
We will hold a ceremonial space, that has three phases or invitations;
~ we will make space for gratitude,
~ we will make a space for welcoming and expressing our grief – however it shows up in that moment
~ we will make a space for homecoming – the welcoming back to “the village”
As a way of preparing for the evening we ask you to bring a few things:
~ an offering to the land of flowers or seeds
~ something that represents your Gratitude and
~ something that represents your Grief.
~ water to drink
~ a drum of you have one
~ a little snack for after the ceremony.
MONEY : on Donation for The Woodland Presents CIC
TIMING: We will begin the ceremony at 6pm to end at 9:30pm. Please arrive at 6pm sharp to settle and orient yourself.
We ask that you stay until the end. This strongly supports the space and container of our ceremony.
