Welcoming Back the Light (Imbolc Gathering)
Date & Time
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us to celebrate Nature’s ‘New Year’ and to mark the occasion of ‘Imbolc’ – the beginning of Spring in the Celtic seasonal calendar. We shall gather in the woods for a short time to mark and celebrate the turning of the year (Feile Brighde – ‘The Quickening of the Year’) and the return of the light of Spring after the darkness of Winter.
It may still be cold in early February, but the first stirrings of life are visible in the woods, fields and sky, as the sun climbs higher, the days noticeably lengthen, the sap begins to ever-so-slowly rise in the trees, and the first stirrings of new growth can be seen.
There is no charge and no tickets for this event – just a simple gathering to mark the day and time of year together – we invite you out of hibernation and into the woods, to welcome back the light.
Also a good chance to see our woodland haven if you haven’t seen it yet.
Location: The Glade, North Woods, Dartington
